#OUTC16 Spotlight: Peer Presentations
by Rachelle Avery on February 03, 2016
Presentations at the OmniUpdate User Training Conference aren’t just about delivering information — they are about putting you in touch with others who experience the same challenges you face. Your peers are your greatest resource. By connecting with them at OUTC16, you join a network of like-minded people all working on similar problems together. With so many brilliant people in our community, it’s incredible to see what you all can accomplish collectively.
The presenters are eager to engage with you too. When asked what they are most excited to share at the conference, here’s what a few had to say:
Noelle Seybert • Using Social Media as an Effective Marketing and Recruitment Tool
“I am most excited to share how Pepperdine has been able to have a cohesive social media strategy while empowering account admins to have their own voice.”
“With a bit of simple PHP code, you can pull content from RSS feeds to provide up-to-date content on static pages. We republish rich excerpts from WordPress, and event listings from Master Calendar onto our OU Campus website pages."
Jason Strohm • Bad Ideas in Web Governance and Why They Work
“I’m most excited to share how a simple equation can be applied to our daily decision making to improve our own working conditions as well as the working conditions of our coworkers.”
Fran Zablocki • Information Architecture: Core Concepts and Best Practices
“Examples of some of our student-first IA approaches — I promise they are different than what you've seen before!"
Eric Turner • Taking a Website from Mundane to Stunningly Responsive in an OmniUpdate Minute
“I am most excited to share how people can go from an ordinary website to clean and responsive in just a few months with the OmniUpdate team's help.”
Ann Oleson • Higher Education's Inbound Marketing Survey: What's New and Next in the Marketplace
“Converge is delighted to be unveiling in person the first Higher Education Research Survey focused on Inbound Marketing Trends in collaboration with OmniUpdate. The session will include benchmark data from over 500 colleges showcasing what's new and next with SEO, Marketing Automation Software, Analytics and Digital Advertising.”
Jonathan Anspaugh • Simplified and Automated Metrics Reporting
“Making informed decisions is paramount to any successful marketing process. The systems I will showcase in my session will explain how any university, regardless of size, can streamline their data processing, reduce reporting time on virtually every piece of data, and ensure timely delivery of information.”
Matt Walters • The Blueprints of a Brand-Driven Website: How to Build a Website that Embodies Your Brand Story
“When we began working with WCU, circumstances demanded an unconventional approach: using a web redesign to guide a brand strategy (instead of the other way around). We learned some things we didn't expect, and I'm excited to share those insights with others who might find a less-than-conventional approach either appealing or necessary on their campuses."
Michael Chameides • Designing for the CMS
“I’m excited to show how to incorporate the content editor into the larger design process. A positive authorship experience will help ensure that our content is effective.”
Each year, presenters share valuable insights they have garnered from their own direct experience. Get ready to learn a ton of tips, tactics, and fresh perspectives. Come engage with these speakers (and many more) in just a few short weeks!
